The International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI), in unison with its members and management consultants from around the world, recognizes and celebrates today as ‘International Consultants’ Day’.

Today as we celebrate the genesis and accomplishments of the consulting profession, we also celebrate our clients and stakeholders for their engaging support and entrusting us with their business and institutional health.

The International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI), its 56,000 members and the sector in general have a lot to celebrate, as this week marked the ‘one year’ anniversary of the very first ISO standard for a service. This international standard, entitled ‘ISO 20700:2017 Guidelines for Management Consultancy Services’, was championed by ICMCI, throughout its formative and approval stages.  It is widely seen as a step in the right direction to bridge the recognition gap between our profession and the more visible ones.

Management consultants continually use their expertise to support clients in multi-sectoral, multi-environmental and multi-jurisdictional settings.  As ethically driven professionals, we provide advisory services in many critical areas, including enhancing economic growth and stability, institutional sustainability, organizational growth and socio-economic change management.

Management consultants are thought leaders and the drivers of innovation.

ICMCI as the international guardian of professionalism and standards, is the driver for improvement across the management consulting profession, enabling our member institutes to increase their influence, standing and performance in their ever-changing societies.

Today ICMCI’s Institutes and members are asked to reflect on the evolution of the profession, to participate and lead discussions and conversations on the challenges in today’s complex business environment and why our members, led by our Certified Management Consultants (CMC) pool, are the professionals for critical times and innovative solutions. We therefore encourage members to take time away from their important schedules today, to enjoy themselves in a relaxing atmosphere.

Happy International Consultants’ Day to all management consultants!
