Norma Shorey, CMC

President

Norma Shorey, M.Sc., CMC, is the Managing Director of Catalyst Consultants.  A specialist in change facilitation and organisational development, Norma has over thirty-five years of working with leaders and team members in bothpublic and private sector agencies in the Caribbean and internationally.

Norma’s passion is helping people to be more effective in organisations and assisting organisations to be more effective with their people. She has an extensive track record in the design and implementation of organisational and sustainable development interventions, incorporating a gender perspective. Her consultancy services include strategic planning, change facilitation, executive coaching, leadership and team capacity building – and a focus on building excellence in the professional services sector. Norma has a sound analytical approach and excellent interpersonal skills which complement her core competencies and professional management expertise:

Norma holds a B.A. (Hons.) from the U.W.I, and a M.Sc. in Social and Community Development from Howard University, USA. Ms. Shorey is an internationally Certified Management Consultant (CMC), with the credential “Trained in the ISO 20700:2017 Guidelines for Management Consultancy Services by CMC-Global.” She holds a Certificate in Organisation and Systems Change and Development from the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland, USA, and certification in the Saville Consulting psychometric assessments. She is a past president of the CIMC Barbados Chapter.

Joan Reid, CMC

Vice-President

Joan is an experienced, directed and passionate educator, noted for achieving required goals through strategic planning, consultations and collaboration. With over 30 years’ experience in the field of education and training, she has a proven record in managing and improving organisations and learning environments through efforts to promote collaboration and stakeholders ‘participation. As a Lecturer, Researcher and Teacher Trainer, her experience in both general and special education includes training in Early Childhood, Special Educational Needs at the certificate level (in-service summer programmes), undergraduate level (special education, early childhood, post diploma) and at the graduate level.

Joan holds a Doctor of Education and a Master of Science from Nova South Eastern University. She attained the Certified Management Consultant (CMC) designation with CIMC.  At the Ministry of Education she has received awards as Master Teacher and Teacher and Principal of the Year.

Joan is the founder and an active executive member of the International body, ASCD, Jamaica Affiliate. (Mico University College). In this capacity she has demonstrated her commitment to special education activities and interventions for students with special educational needs. She serves as Executive Director of the Early Childhood Commission (ECC), and has acted as HOD, Special Education department, Mico University College. With this background, Joan has undertaken assignments including providing operational management and oversight of the ECC project toward achieving disbursement linked targets for the country, which resulted in successful implementation of the World Bank Early Childhood Project. She has also facilitated the implementation of effective programmes and procedures in meeting standards for improving educational systems and student outcomes, including successful implementation of school management systems of the Ministry of Education.

Rabindra Jaggernauth, CMC

Treasurer

Rabindra Jaggernauth – B.Math., M.Sc., CMC, CITP, CGEIT, FBCS, C.Dir is a highly skilled and experienced IT and Management Consultant.  He has over forty years industry experience including thirty-five in consulting at the Senior and Executive levels and has a special interest in the utilization of information technology, process improvement and reengineering, corporate and IT governance and change management to improve corporate productivity and performance.

He is an ex-Partner in charge of Consulting Services at Ernst & Young, a former CEO of the National ICT Company Limited (iGovTT), and was the Managing Director of Esprit Consultants Limited.  He has a Bachelor of Mathematics degree from the University of Waterloo, majoring in Computer Science, a Master of Science in Operational Research and Systems Analysis from the University of Aston in Birmingham.  He is a Fellow of the British Computer Society, a Chartered IT Professional (CITP), Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT), a Certified Management Consultant (CMC) and a Chartered Director (C.Dir).  He is a Commissioner of the Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago, Vice President of the Caribbean Institute of Management Consultants, Director of the Trinidad and Tobago Multistakeholder Advisory Group and former President and current Director of the Trinidad and Tobago Coalition of Services Industries.

His special area of interest is the non-technical side of IT – the cultural side, the change management, the continuous improvement side, as he feels that these areas are essential to successfully exploiting IT.  His passion is the use of ICT and the Internet to develop and promote the services sector, an area that is essential to our economy.

Olivia Chase, CMC

Secretary

Olivia Chase, MSc., trained economist, and organisational development specialist.

She received a Master of Science in Economic Development and International Trade University of Reading, and a Bachelor of Science- Economics and Management from the UWI. She holds a Diploma in Project Management from the Cambridge International College and Certificates in Sustainable Public Procurement from the Organisation of American States, in Financing for Development (Statement of Accomplishment with Distinction) with the World Bank Group, in Managing People from a Global Perspective and in Global Value Chain Analysis from the Duke University/Caribbean Centre for Competitiveness. 

Fifteen years of her professional career has been in the public sector where she has worked on several consulting projects which include working with public sector ministries and departments offering technical advice and recommendations to improve performance management methods, budgeting, and process efficiency. Her professional experience has expanded her competencies in: Public Sector Performance Management, Strategic Planning, Building High Performance Organizations, Public Sector Programme Budgeting, Process Mapping, Value-chain Analysis and the development of Economic Policy.

Olivia is Certified Management Consultant (CMC), and holds the credential Trained in the ISO 20700:2017 Guidelines for Management Consultancy Services. She is the President of the CIMC Barbados Chapter. 

In 2019, Olivia launched her own management consulting company – Performance Pro Business Solutions (now QM Consulting Global). She is passionate about working on consultancy projects which seek to bring about sustainable and meaningful impact through changes in attitudes of workers, and in output and strategic performance of firms.

 

Charmaine Gravesandy, MBA

Director

Charmaine Gravesandy is a management professional with over fifteen years experience in strategic planning, project management, business and community development, financial management, and management of information systems. She is a systems consultant and technical director for Sagient Management Systems, and is a Director and Co-Founder of the Caribbean Development Foresight Institute a non-profit research and think tank. She is instrumental in the coordination and management of projects and events, particularly as it relates to Caribbean Diaspora issues. For the past five years, she has been the coordinator for the annual Invest Caribbean Agri-business Conference, Caribbean American Heritage Month Conference, and the Caribbean American Heritage Awards, in Washington, DC.

Ms. Gravesandy holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, with a specialization in Management Information Systems from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and a Bachelor of Business Administration, Accounting major, from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. She is trained in ISO 27000-Guidelines for Management Consultancy Services by CMC Global. Additionally, she has attained certificates in Financing for Development from The World Bank and Project Management Techniques for Development Professionals from the Inter-American Development Bank. She is a member of the Project Management Institute and the International Institute of Business Analysis.

Dr. Nsombi Jaja, CMC

Immediate Past President

Nsombi Jaja, Ph.D., P.M.P., C.M.C., SCM,  SAMC.  is a Certified Management Consultant, providing assistance to the business community in the areas of strategic management, quality management, change management, leadership development and customer experience management. She is a John Maxwell certified speaker, trainer and coach.

A recognized Regional consultant with clients and associates throughout the English speaking Caribbean Nsombi has assisted her clients on their transformation journey to achieve sustainable performance through the implementation of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and has the credential Trained in the ISO 20700:2017 Guidelines for Management Consultancy Services. She is a certified Caribbean Export ProNet Trainer for Energy Management & Renewables, Knowledge & Information Management, Resource Management and Quality Management. She is a certified SGG and PECB Trainer, a Certified Change Management Professional CCMP, a Certified Balanced Scorecard Professional, a certified Project Manager with the PMP credentials from Project Management Institute and SCRUM Master Certified and SCRUM Agile Master Certified. She holds a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) from the University of Phoenix.

Nsombi has worked with the leadership teams of client organizations assisting them with strategic management, quality management, customer care and change management. She has served as presenter and moderator on several conferences, and is rated on par with consultants on the Juran Institute’s ‘A’ list.

Dr. Jaja is the current President of the Caribbean Institute of Management Consultants (CIMC).  She is the Chief Judge and Chair of the Private Sector Service Excellence Award Committee, is a member of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Best Practices Award and serves on several boards including the CIMC. She serves on the ICMCI Professional Standards Committee and as an assessor for IMC’s  globally. She is a mentor and assessor for CMC candidates

She is the author of ‘How Leaders Develop Spiritual Intelligence’. Her highly acclaimed CD ‘Reach for the Stars’ has motivated many to achieve excellence in their lives.
