Caribbean consultants are joining their colleagues from around the globe in a celebration of resilience and progressiveness on International Consultants’ Day.

For the past sixteen years, the first Thursday in June has been recognized as International Consultants’ Day.  Today, the Caribbean Institute of Certified Management Consultants (CICMC) joins fellow institutes, collegial members and other consultants in commemorating this occasion.

In October of last year, in spite of the devastation wrought on The Bahamas by Hurricane Dorian, CICMC successfully hosted the 2019 ‘CMC International Conference’ and ‘ICMCI Annual Meeting of Delegates’, in Nassau, Bahamas. This was a testament of the resilience of the management consulting industry here in the Caribbean region and our ability to turn a disaster into a success.  The organisation continues to identify and highlight the strong intrinsic values that the institute and its members bring to the region.  CICMC’s umbrella organization, the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI), is comprised of 51 regional institutes and represents 64,000 individual consultants.  This relationship provides our members and stakeholders with unrivalled access to an extensive regional and global network of talent.

Recognizing that our members are drawn from throughout CARIFORUM and the Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTs), CICMC focuses on seeking areas of commonality and formulating network partnerships to strengthen its offerings to clients and stakeholders.  Today, as CICMC celebrates these strengths, it challenges governments and stakeholders to draw on this deep reservoir of talent and resources, particularly during and in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As the capacity building leader for regional consultants, CICMC plans to expand its focus and efforts, to navigate the new reality, by continuing to advocate for enabling legislation for management consultants; utilising virtual platforms, public service education fora and artificial intelligence tools, to increase opportunities for the training and re-tooling of professionals; and by championing the benefits of talent and resource pooling to members and stakeholders.

This International Consultants’ Day, CICMC is reminded of its role in the region as thought leaders and drivers of innovation, and affirms its commitment to the promotion of knowledge and interaction among members, and the provision of quality services to the Caribbean community. In this vein, the organisation will also focus on attracting and utilising the skills and experiences of specialists and young consultants, by introducing new outreach programmes and platforms to encourage wider participation and broaden the CICMC leadership.

Finally, of equal importance on this day, the organisation recognizes and thanks regional stakeholders, for their ongoing support, acknowledging that its positive trajectory would not have been possible without them.

CICMC takes this opportunity to invite all interested consultants to learn more about membership in the organisation and its work by visiting our website: www.caribbeanimc.com or contact info@caribbeanimc.com.
